The Ostins have been members of our UCLA family for many, many years. As a result, I too am deeply saddened by Randy's death and wish to extend my sincere sympathy to all of his family and friends. As a liver transplant surgeon, I am inspired daily by my patients and Randy was certainly no exception.

Your vision and generosity in establishing a memorial fund in Randy's memory moves me tremendously and I cannot thank you enough. I have dedicated my life's work to saving lives through transplantation and my number one priority is to build a Transplant Institute here at UCLA to house what has become one of the most comprehensive, premier transplant centers in the nation. The Randy Ostin Memorial Fund will serve as a lasting tribute to his life and legacy by providing much needed support for our work in securing a future for thousands of patients like Randy in the years to come.
