The UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital Heart Center provides world-class medical care in a warm and caring environment for all children with known or suspected heart disease. We are uniquely positioned to provide a continuum of care for children of all ages with any kind of heart disease, from common and benign heart conditions to the most complex congenital heart defects. For children with heart disease, a “one-stop shop” health system and team of caregivers represents more than a convenience--it can mean the difference between life and death. Newborns requiring invasive neonatal intervention within minutes or hours after delivery receive immediate access to state-of-the-art neonatal cardiac surgery or catheterization allowing the mother to stay close to her baby. As they grow, infants are managed throughout childhood by a sub-specialized pediatric cardiology team. Upon entering adolescence and adulthood, patients undergo smooth transitions into transitional and adult cardiology programs, which provide ongoing care throughout adulthood. With your help, our children’s heart center team will continue to make significant advances in research and clinical care. Donations will support the greatest needs of children’s heart health at UCLA. These needs may include, but are not limited to:
