Founded in 1969, the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies supports research and educational programs that expand the knowledge of the history, lifestyles, and sociocultural systems of people of African descent and investigates problems that have bearing on the psychological, social, and economic well-being of persons of African descent. Research sponsored and conducted by the Bunche Center is multidisciplinary in scope and spans the humanities, social sciences, fine arts, and several professional schools.

Your financial support is vital for us to continue and expand our education and research goals, both at UCLA and in the community. Gifts to the Ralph J. Bunche Center Discretionary Fund are especially appreciated as they allow the Director to invest in the Center’s areas of greatest need. Donors to this fund receive special recognition in the UCLA leadership giving program, the Chancellor’s Society, along with special courtesies based on the giving level.
