Recent Grad: Job Search Essentials 

Recent Grad: Job Search Essentials is a three-part professional development experience designed for UCLA alums (0–3 years out) as they transition from college to career. This interactive series helps Bruins build momentum in their early careers by strengthening key foundations for long-term success.

Across three focused sessions, participants will learn how to get noticed through a strong resume and cover letter, own their story through a compelling digital presence, and build meaningful connections through networking and UCLA resources. Each session includes practical guidance from industry professionals and alumni leaders along with actionable steps to apply between sessions.

Whether you are exploring your next opportunity, refining your professional brand, or expanding your network, this series is designed to help you take clear, confident steps forward in your career journey powered by the strength of the UCLA alumni community.

All sessions are conducted virtually over Zoom at 12 Noon PT. Zoom link will be distributed upon registration.

Session 1: Oct. 29
Get Noticed: Resume + Cover Letter Strategy
Build stronger application materials while gaining confidence navigating the job search process. Learn how to tailor your resume and cover letter to the opportunities you want, understand what employers are looking for, and leverage UCLA career resources to put your best foot forward.

Session 2: Nov. 5
Own Your Story Online: LinkedIn + Personal Brand
Make your online presence work for you. Learn how to showcase your experience, strengths, and career story on LinkedIn and UCLA ONE, with practical tips for building a professional brand that gets noticed.

Session 3: Nov. 12
Turn Connections Into Opportunities: Networking to Build Community
Move beyond simply making connections and learn how to build relationships that can support your career. Discover approachable networking strategies and ways to tap into the UCLA alumni community for advice, insight, and opportunities.
