The need for cutting-edge, innovative mathematics is pressing in many fields, whether one is seeking algorithms to locate disease genes, designing and predicting the properties of new materials, modeling the effect of economic changes on our climate, or discovering new methods to design trajectories for exploring the solar system. Fostering these new techniques and training a new generation of mathematical scientists who will develop and use them lies at the heart of IPAM's mission. We seek the support of friends who share our vision and are willing to help forward it. Your donation will help us continue to run high quality programs attracting both internationally renowned experts as well as promising young scholars.

Please consider donating to the following IPAM priorities:

  • Facilities Improvement. Upkeep and Enhancement of IPAM’s space is essential in supporting IPAM's inviting and inclusive atmosphere.  Your gift will help create and maintain a welcoming place for our participants and the math community. To donate, select “IPAM Foundation Fund” below and put “facilities improvement” in comments.
  • Child Care Fund.Help IPAM support participants whose attendance in programs is depending on securing reliable care for their children. To donate, select “IPAM Foundation Fund” below and put “child care” in comments.

Alternatively consider a gift to one of two IPAM’s endowment funds that will grow over time and provide annual interest income to IPAM. For multi-year pledges to the IPAM Director’s Endowment Fund, please contact Loida De Leon ldeleon@support.ucla.edu.The Director’s Endowment Fund supports director’s priorities and is for general funding of IPAM.  The EDI endowment supports IPAM EDI activities.

Gifts are managed and invested in accordance with UCLA’s endowment investment policies. The total return earned in excess of the amount approved annually for payout will be retained in the endowment principal to protect from the effects of inflation and to allow for growth. At the discretion of the appropriate campus office, when the payout is not needed for purposes of the fund, the return of payout may be added to the endowment fund principal. In the event the fund does not reach endowment minimum; or the program ceases to exist at UCLA, proceeds from the fund will be utilized in an area and manner as closely related as possible to the original intent and purposes for which the fund was established.

Although the Endowment is intended to exist in perpetuity, unforeseen circumstances may alter or remove the subject area from the campus academic plan or it may become impossible, impracticable or wasteful to administer.
