Thank you for your interest in supporting the work of the UCLA Department of Germanic Languages. The Department of Germanic Languages is committed to teaching and research in the languages, literatures, and cultures of those parts of the world where Germanic languages are spoken. Donations are particularly welcome. Two funds have been established to receive contributions for projects that demonstrate particular importance.

Germanic Languages Student Support Fund: Contributions to this fund will support students directly--through fellowships, awards for undergraduate study abroad, which is essential for mastering a foreign language, and stipends to help graduate students pursue the research required for their degrees, which usually requires travel to Europe.

Germanic Languages Chair’s Discretionary Fund: Contributions to this fund support graduate and undergraduate studies as well as special programs and events--public lectures and conferences are essential both to foster the intellectual vitality of the department and to bring developments in our field to the attention of the larger community.

In recognition of the importance of annual gifts to the Germanic Languages Chair’s Discretionary Fund as selected by clicking on the fund information’s arrow below, you will be part of the UCLA leadership giving program, the Chancellor’s Society. As a leadership donor at UCLA, you will receive special courtesies based on your leadership level annual gift:
