With the support from the family and friends of Amy Horton, PhD, the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences has established an endowment to honor the legacy of Dr. Horton, a gifted psychologist and therapist who dedicated her career to the treatment of children, adolescents and their families. Dr. Horton was especially noted for her commitment to expert psychotherapeutic treatment and her tireless advocacy for the needs of the youth she cared for during her rich career that touched and enhanced so many lives.

The endowment – the Dr. Amy Horton Memorial Fund - will support the “Dr. Amy Horton Memorial Award” which will provide unrestricted support for pre-doctoral psychology interns at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA , competitively selected by a group of core training faculty on the basis of the intern’s commitment to the care of children as demonstrated through extraordinary clinical therapeutic skills and compassionate care, particularly in relation to the delivery of cognitive-behavioral and other evidence-based therapies for children, adolescents and families.
