The Rimoin Pandemic Research and Action Fund advances public health by conducting impactful research on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and strengthening health systems both globally and locally. Based at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, we work in partnership with communities worldwide, across the United States, and right here at home in Southern California to address the urgent and ongoing challenges of infectious diseases. By integrating epidemiology, ecology, and behavioral sciences, we study the drivers of disease emergence and re-emergence, from global threats like Mpox, Ebola, and COVID-19 to local public health priorities, including vaccine-preventable illnesses and vector-borne diseases. Our work bridges borders and disciplines, ensuring that the insights and solutions we develop can make an immediate difference—whether in Los Angeles neighborhoods, across the United States, or in vulnerable regions around the world. Your support fuels research and action that helps prevent, detect, and respond to infectious diseases wherever they emerge, improving health and resilience both globally and right here at home.
