Join us for the UCLA Extension's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s annual fall fundraiser - an afternoon celebrating Los Angeles culinary history and the joy of lifelong learning. Sharon Boorstin—OLLI member, author, and former restaurant critic for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner—will interview Barbara Fairchild, former editor-in-chief of Bon Appétit. Together, they will explore the people, restaurants, and culinary trends that have shaped dining in Los Angeles. Guests attending in person will also enjoy desserts inspired by iconic Los Angeles restaurants. The buffet will feature memorable sweets such as Chasen’s Banana Cream Pie, Scandia’s Apple Cake, Hamburger Hamlet’s Mud Pie, and Bon Appétit’s celebrated Ribbon Cake. Along the way, we will revisit legendary desserts at including Musso & Frank Grill, the Brown Derby, and Spago. Your gift will benefit UCLA Extension’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Support Fund, helping sustain this thriving and vibrant community for intellectually curious adults from all walks of life. Unable to attend in person? You may participate online or make a gift in support of OLLI. A recording of the event will be available to donors following the program.
If you’re able, please consider giving more (BELOW). Your generosity directly supports our OLLI program!
Every contribution makes a difference!
