Produced by the UCLA Art|Sci center in partnership with Getty PST ART: Art & Science Collide

 



Atmosphere of Sound: Sonic Art in Times of Climate Disruption is a multi-year research project culminating in a large-scale exhibition of sound-based art. Produced by the UCLA Art|Sci center, the project proposes to explore the relationship between sound as a post-object art form, and our shifting relationship to the world of things as necessitated by climate change.

Atmosphere of Sound is complemented by a 250-page publication scheduled for release in September 2024, designed by Becca Lofchie Studio with support from Art|Sci’s in-house design team. Features original essays by Victoria Vesna, Anuradha Vikram, Ivana Dama, Aisen Caro Chacin, Carlo Ventura, Stephanie Loveless, Lena Ortega Atristain, and María Antonia González Valerio and a roundtable conversation with scientific and artistic researchers.
